Kim Gantt has dedicated her time and enthusiasm to the mission of the Leukemia Lymphoma Society (LLS) for over a decade.  She began her volunteer journey as the captain of her company’s Light the Night team, leading her colleagues in their fight against blood cancers.  After taking part in her first event, Kim was moved by her experience and inspired by the dedication of her community to the service of others.  Now, over 14 years later, Kim continues to inspire those around her by volunteering her time and expertise to LLS events and campaigns throughout the year.

Kim plays a key role in every area-LLS and is considered to be part of the family.  Today, as Kim prepares once again for a critical volunteer management role in all three of the Washington D.C. area’s Light the Night walks, she is excited to tackle a new challenge as she plans to manage the campaign of one of next year’s LLS Man/Woman of the Year candidates.

It’s easy to be inspired by Kim’s relentless devotion to the fight against cancer.  But for Kim, her inspiration is drawn from the passion of her fellow volunteers:

For me it’s about the people.  The staff and volunteers at LLS are so passionate and believe so strongly in what they are doing that it’s impossible not to stay involved.  I love knowing that I am making a difference and being part of changing the face of cancer.

Thank you Kim!  Your dedication and hard work has left an indelible mark on your community and continues to motivate and inspire those around you to give what they can in support of improving the lives of others.
