Arlington County Health Department

Arlington County Health Department is calling for volunteers on July 19, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. to travel through a simulated medication dispensing site at the Aurora Hills Community Center, 735 18th St South, Arlington, VA.  Although no actual medications will be handed out, public health staff and volunteers will go through the same procedures and protocols that they would use to dispense medications in a real disaster.

From kindergarten through 12th grade, students need basic school supplies that many families cannot afford to buy. Our goal is to ensure that every student who calls an APAH community home has the supplies they need to begin the school year.

How does it work?

  1. Choose a grade level (K-12) and fill a backpack (or 2!) with supplies from the list (website below)
  2. E-mail Julie Booth at (or call 571.800.6462) to share your backpack donation commitment.
  3. Drop off your filled backpack at a designated APAH location during the week of July 22 (locations to be announced)

You can also help by sharing this donation opportunity with your neighbors, employer, faith community, social networks, or even passersby on the street!
