Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is a volunteer-powered nonprofit dedicated to rescuing homeless, neglected, and abandoned animals from certain euthanasia and finding them loving forever homes. We educate the community and all pet owners on responsible pet parenting, including the importance of spay/neuter, obedience training, and good nutrition.

MentorPrize aims to mitigate the chronic shortage of mentors in the D.C. area so that children and young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds get the emotional, academic and/or professional support everyone deserves. We recruit mentors and place them with local mentoring programs that serve a wide range of constituents — from homeless kids to teenage parents to first generation college students.

The mission of Mini-Musicals on the Move® (MMotM) is to improve the quality of life of seniors living in group residences through musical theater performances that include audience singing opportunities. We perform abbreviated musicals (complete with costumes, props, and some dancing) in senior residences of all types (independent living, assisted living, memory care, and nursing homes) throughout the Washington, D.C Metropolitan Area.

Moms Demand Action campaigns for new and stronger solutions to lax gun laws and loopholes that jeopardize the safety of our families.

The mission of the Museum of Science Fiction is to create a center of gravity where art and science are powered by imagination. Science fiction is the story of humanity: who we were, who we are, and who we dream to be. The Museum will present this story through displays, interactivity, and programs in ways that excite, educate, entertain, and create a new generation of dreamers.

NAMI Northern Virginia, the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness affiliate for over 45 years, provides free advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all people affected by mental illness can build better lives. Our programs help you to better understand mental health conditions by connecting with others who have lived these experiences. All our programs are free, confidential, and peer-led. We understand and can offer hope because we’ve been there too.

NDSS empowers individuals with Down syndrome and their families by driving policy change, providing resources, engaging with local communities, and shifting public perceptions.
