Since 1954, you’ve helped us take on the biggest fights for animals across the country and around the world. The major issues impacting animals have changed over the years, but our mission remains the same: To create a more humane society. Together with millions of supporters, the Humane Society of the United States takes on puppy mills, factory farms, the fur trade, trophy hunting, animal cosmetics testing and other cruel industries.

The Immigrant and Refugee Outreach Center (IROC) welcomes newcomers by delivering immediate material support and long-term help for navigating life in the US. We strive to provide tools to build a strong foundation for a prosperous future in the US by forging strong community ties among both newcomers and volunteers. Our values are empathy, responsiveness, and flexibility to adapt to the evolving challenges of the resettlement process.

The Museum's mission is to create compelling exhibitions and other learning experiences that shed light on the shadow world of espionage and intelligence, educating and challenging each of us to engage critically with the complex world around us.

Established in honor of Jenn Lawson, who lost her life in 2014, the Jennifer Bush-Lawson Foundation serves economically vulnerable mothers and babies by working to increase access to high-quality maternal and infant care and support. Jennifer was a loving, dedicated mother of three, driven to advocacy after receiving high-quality care during her own complicated pregnancies. JB-LF seeks to embody her generous spirit by giving all mothers and newborns the means to thrive.

The mission of Just Neighbors is to provide high-quality immigration legal services to low-income immigrants, asylees and refugees in Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia; and, to build community among clients, staff, volunteers and the larger society through education, advocacy, and volunteerism.

La Cocina VA’s mission is to use the power of food as an agent of social and economic change to generate workforce and economic development.
