Arlington Retirement Housing Corporation's mission is to provide quality independent and assisted living housing with services for low and very low income seniors age 62 years and older so that they can age in place in our caring community.

We started our work because we saw a problem: two-thirds of students in DC read below their grade level. This is unacceptable and we refuse to idly stand by. There are more than 6 million adults in the DC Metro area, and if we all commit just an hour or two a week, every student will have the academic support they need. Our plan is simple: provide a tutor or mentor for every student reading below grade level or in need of additional academic or non-academic support in DC.

District Mugs is a volunteer-run nonprofit that introduces entrepreneurship and business concepts to the homeless in Washington, D.C., by teaching them how to design, market, and sell coffee mugs. 80% of the profits from this venture are passed on to our homeless participants to provide them with a small.

Educational Theatre Company (ETC)'s mission is changing lives through the arts. Founded in 1998 by five dedicated teaching artists, ETC provides student-written, process-driven theatre education to students ages 3-103 throughout the DC Metro Area. Eliminating transportation as a barrier, everything ETC does is out in the community, where our students already are - at schools, community centers, and senior living homes!

Encore Learning is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2002. We offer a wide variety of college-level noncredit courses, clubs, special events and activities to help meet the continuing educational and social interests of anyone over age 50, regardless of residence location.
