Lunch & Learn Sessions
Community Learning Over Lunch
Our free Lunch & Learn sessions are quarterly opportunities for anyone involved in volunteer management and engagement. Each session topic has been identified by a group of volunteer management professionals to ensure the learning session is truly relevant and applicable to your work.
In addition to the program, the session also includes a chance to network with your colleagues and hear the latest benefits and tools available to our Volunteer Arlington partners.
Why Should You Attend a Lunch & Learn Session?
- Network with other Volunteer Arlington partners
- Discuss a variety of topics relevant to your specific work
- Learn about how Volunteer Arlington may support your organization
Community Report 2019: Insight into Arlington's Children, Youth, and Families
Join us for our next Lunch & Learn session, facilitated by Kim Durand, Coordinator and Rebecca Hjelm, Data Specialist, of Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, & Families (APCYF)
This session will focus on data in the 2019 Community Report which illustrates some disparities in Arlington. Following a short presentation, there will be a discussion aimed at helping Arlington move towards equitable solutions. Your participation in this session may help with program/policy development, generate ideas for strategies, and help to shape the APCYF priorities.

The Buzz Around Town
“The Lunch & Learn sessions presented by Volunteer Arlington are always relevant and educational. They benefit both individuals who are new to volunteer program management and those of us who have been working in the field for many years, and they are an excellent opportunity for all who work with volunteers to come together to learn, connect and share challenges, wins and best practices.” – Julie Booth, CVA, APAH Volunteer Program Manager
“The Lunch & Learn sessions provided by Volunteer Arlington help me keep a fresh perspective on our Volunteer Program. The topics and discussion have helped to strengthen our processes. I have also been able to build relationships with dedicated professionals in the Arlington Community. Information from the Lunch & Learn Sessions has had a direct, positive impact on our program’s mission, and I look forward to each quarterly event.” – Angela Chadbourne, Volunteer Services Coordinator, Cherrydale Health and Rehabilitation Center
"Lunch & Learn sessions are very informative. They are a great introduction to the Center, and meeting the more than 30 other local nonprofits that also attended was icing on the cake! Volunteer Arlington shared many resources that I didn’t know about, and Arlington Neighborhood Village plans to participate in coming events that will recognize the incredible contributions of our more than 200 volunteers." – Wendy Zenker, Executive Director of Arlington Neighborhood Village
