Lunch and Learn: Conversation Groups

Volunteer Arlington hosted its quarterly Lunch & Learn Session on May 18, 2017. The topic for the session was "Conversation Groups." The group ate their bagged lunches while hearing from Lisa Fikes, Director of Volunteer Arlington, about important upcoming dates and information. They then split into two groups led by Reverend Andrew Marrow, Rector at St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Arlington, and Stephanie Berman, Director of Program Operations at The Reading Connection. Reverend Marrow led conversation about how best to connect nonprofit and county organizations with faith communities and some of the best ways to engage different faith communities. Stephanie Berman led conversation about how to engage volunteers based on their skills and interests. Both groups enjoyed conversing with one another and sharing some of their best practices as members of the community and employees of nonprofit and county organizations who seek support from volunteers!
